Hope Scholar Tytain Sun Reflects on How This Scholarship Has Impacted Him:

“I’m a 20-year-old Cambodian American, majoring in computer science, with a minor in cybersecurity. I’d say I was more fortunate than most in that my parents had savings for my education. Still, I didn’t want to put that financial burden on them.

“When I heard that RIC was offering the 希望奖学金, I eagerly waited to hear more. I kept checking my 电子邮件. I was a little worried because, in my case, my parents could afford to pay for my education. I thought it would be the same as when I applied for the FAFSA [Free Application for Federal Student Aid].
